Cristiano Ronaldo betting form
Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s most expensive player ever, but he has justified the price tag in terms of goals since his arrival in Spain.
After scoring over 100 goals for Manchester United – including 42 in 2007/08 – Real Madrid put an end to the betting speculation over Ronaldo’s future by shelling out £80 million to ensure his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu. His goal tallies have been steadily rising in the white of Madrid ever since. In his first season he scored 33 goals, in his second season 53 and his third season – 2011/12 – he produced an astonishing 60 goals.
With a minimum of 10 games left in the current campaign, betting patterns lean to whether or not the Portuguese forward can better last season’s total. He is 10 goals shy at the moment, and with a record of over a goal a game since his departure from England you would be inclined to think that he has every chance of bettering last season’s remarkable tally.
Cristiano Ronaldo to Score Anytime Odds?
Much like Lionel Messi, there is little to be made betting on Cristiano Ronaldo to score at anytime. He has proven, in double headers against Manchester United and Barcelona recently, that he is worthy of gracing any blockbuster match with a goal or two. Instead it is best to focus on how many goals Cristiano Ronaldo will score. With a Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid coming up, a Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund and a potential final at Wembley, there is money to be made betting on Ronaldo to score two, three or even four in any of those matches.
The similarities with Messi end at their flair for scoring though. Lionel Messi’s future remains fairly certain at Barcelona, while some Cristiano Ronaldo betting markets suggest his career path is far from clear cut. Odds are available that the 28-year-old will end up at Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG or even Bayern Munich in the summer of 2013 – a move which would far from please Real Madrid fans.
As he heads towards 30, betting patterns suggest there may well be one more big move on the horizon for Cristiano Ronaldo, but even if that can’t be said for sure, it’s certain that he’s going to continue winning goalscoring bets for people across the globe for the foreseeable future.
