Chelsea Champions League Betting Tips
Chelsea and Manchester United will be hope to be the only English teams to make it through to this season’s Champions League Quarter-Finals, but they must overcome Galatasaray and Olympiakos respectively.
Chelsea v Galatasaray Betting Tips
Chelsea were the only English team to avoid defeat in their last 16 first leg tie in Turkey, as they secured a 1-1 draw against the Turkish Champions Galatasaray three weeks ago.
The Blues will be confident of progressing into the final eight of the Champions League, with a win required at Stamford Bridge this evening.
They need to bounce back from Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa but Ashley Cole and David Luiz are both injury doubts for the fixture whilst Nemanja Matic and Mohammed Salah are cup-tied.
Visitors Galatasaray have lost just one game since the start of December in all competitions, but have drawn five of their last seven games. They need at least a score draw to stand any chance of progressing tonight.
Watch this one live on ITV1 from 7:45pm this evening.
Real Madrid v Schalke Betting Tips
With a 6-1 first leg win, only a monumental upset will prevent Real Madrid securing their place in the Champions League Quarter-Finals.
Braces from Madrid hit-men Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale helped the Spaniards into a convincing victory in Germany and the only question that remains this evening is how big will Real’s winning margin be?
With El Classico coming up on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti may choose to rest a couple of Real’s stars, however he has confirmed that Ronaldo will start the match this evening.
The hosts are in formidable form, and have not lost any of their last 31 games in all competitions. There is little value on a Real win at 1/4 with Paddy Power, but my BET OF THE DAY is a Real win-to-nil at 11/8 with SkyBet offers better value.
Catch this match from 7:45pm tonight on Sky Sports 1.
Manchester United v Olympiakos Betting Tips
With a top four finish almost out of the question, Manchester United’s only chance of a Champions League spot next season, is by winning this year’s competition, but they must overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit against Olympiakos first.
United’s disastrous season continued on Sunday when they were soundly beaten by old rivals Liverpool but they must shake themselves down against the Greeks on Wednesday.
But the hosts have won just four of their last 14 games in all competitions, but they will be without the injured Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans whilst Juan Mata is cup-tied.
Olympiakos, who once again top the Greek Super League, have lost two of their last three domestic matches since the first leg, but are in the driving seat ahead of Wednesday’s game.
The match is live on Sky Sport 1 from 7:45pm.
Borussia Dortmund v Zenit St. Petersburg Betting Tips
The other Last 16 tie on Wednesday sees Borussia Dortmund take a 4-2 first leg lead over Russian Champions Zenit St. Petersburg, who have just appointed former Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas as manager.
Dortmund will be confident of progressing into the last eight of the tournament, especially considering Zenit have so far failed to pick up a win since their winter break.
This one is live on Sky Sports 4 from 7:45pm.
