NBA Betting Tips 28th December 2013
Portland Trail Blazers currently boast an 11-0 record again Eastern Conference teams, however they face what may be their hardest task as of yet, against current NBA champions, Miami Heat.
Eastern Conference leaders, Indiana Pacers host the struggling Brooklyn Nets, whilst Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards battle it out in an all-Eastern play-off contenders clash.
Miami Heat @ Portland Trail Blazers – 03:00 am
Trail Blazers are currently 24-5 this campaign and have won eight of their last 10, whilst Heat went down to Sacramento in over-time on Saturday.
The visitors can be backed at 7/4, whilst the hosts are best price 4/7 to continue their fine streak.
Heat have improved recently though and sit in a strong second position in the Eastern. Last year’s MVP Lebron James is struggling with multiple injuries and may sit out the game. If he does play, the 5/6 odds that Paddy Power are offering for him to score more than 26.5 points is good value.
LaMarcus Aldridge has been in fantastic form this season and is currently averaging 23.4 ppg, which makes the 5/6 odds for him to score more than 24.5 points on Sunday a decent bet.
The Blazers are averaging the highest ppg average up to now, scoring 108.7ppg, however the Heat have one of the more solid defences so it is sure to be a tight contest. For Portland to win by 1-10 points, Paddy Power are offering odds of 7/5.
Brooklyn Nets @ Indiana Pacers – 12:00 am
Pacers are huge 1/11 favourites to improve their already-impressive record, with the Nets a massive 9/1. The away side did record a decent home victory over Milwaukee on Saturday, however this will be much harder.
Pacers are by far the best defensive team in the league, conceding only 89.4ppg on average. Nets are one of the lower scoring teams in the NBA and are conceding over 102.0ppg game.
For the Pacers to win by 11-15, odds of 4/1 are offered, which symbolises decent value. Indiana are often behind at the half way point and for them to be losing at half time and then go on and win, Paddy Power offer good odds of 11/2.
Detroit Pistons @ Washington Wizards – 12:00 am
Pistons suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Orlando on Saturday and Wizards were battered by Timberwolves. Detroit are currently 7th, with Washington one place above in 6th, so this is sure to be a thriller.
Wizards are currently 7/10, whilst Pistons represent what seems to be decent value at 23/17 for the team that has won more games so far.
Both point guards, John Wall and Brandon Jennings have both been scoring and assisting well for their respective teams and Wall is 5/6 to score above 21.0 points. Jennings is averaging 17.7ppg and symbolises good value of 5/6 to score above 18.5 points.
New York Knicks will look to get back to winning ways as they face Toronto, Dallas travel to the slightly improving Chicago Bulls and New Orleans @ Rockets is sure to entertain.
Minnesota should beat Bucks, Phoenix face 76ers, LA Clippers host Utah Jazz and Golden State travel to Cleveland. Elsewhere, Charlotte play Atlanta and the Nuggets will bid once again to get out of their terrible 5-game losing slump against the Grizzlies.
