Saturday’s Horse Racing Betting Tips
Tomorrow is a unique day in the horse racing world, as Student Race Day will be taking place at six courses across the country, giving young people the chance to experience the fantastic sport.
Top quality action is available from Aintree, Chepstow, Doncaster, Newbury, Stratford and Wolverhampton.
Racing Post Trophy (Group 1) 1m
The Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster is one of the more noticeable races of the day and last year’s winning trainer A P O’Brien is set to saddle three entries. Century is the favourite of the three and is currently 4/1 with most firms.
Kingston Hill is another of the leading contenders in what is sure to be a very challenging race for punters. He is unbeaten in two starts, with his latest win coming in a Group 3 at Newmarket, which he won impressively.
Godolphin saddle Pinzolo who is 9/2 with BetVictor, and two from two going into this so cannot be ignored.
Others that are worth noting here are Somewhat (8/1), who is proven at this level and could be a major contender, and Chief Barker (8/1), who is unbeaten in three and has champion jockey Richard Hughes aboard.
Scott Dobson Memorial Doncaster Stakes (Listed) 6f
The first race at Doncaster is another very interesting one and O’Brien again saddles the leading contender, Stubbs. He looked very smart in his previous races, however he did not run to his ability in the Coventry.
Hughes is aboard another market leader, NIGHT OF THUNDER, who won well on soft ground at Goodwood and could well make it two out of two here. Betfred are currently offering the best price of 11/4 on him.
Aeolus has been running very well lately and he and Godolphin’s Brave Boy represent decent value in this tricky contest.
Betfred Monet’s Garden Old Roan Chase (Grade 2 Limited Handicap) 2m4f
Walkon is the 9/2 favourite with Betfred to take the Group 1 race at Aintree. He has ran some very decent races including the latest second in the Topham over Grand National fences in April. He usually goes well fresh and should be there about again.
Chepstow host some top quality jumps racing and Daryl Jacob is tipped to bag some winners for the Nicholls stable tomorrow. He is aboard Just A Par in the second race, who finished second in a Grade 1 novice hurdle last time and can progress.
His next race is in the first of the two main contests, and he is aboard CEASER MILAN, who is new to the stable after winning two bumpers last season. He is in search of a fourth straight win and is available at 7/4 with most firms.
Virak is his other favoured ride, following his win in a novice hurdle in March. It will not be easy though, as Tom Scudamore rides Broadway Buffalo who is currently 4/1. He won four in a row before a poor show latest.
The Worthington’s Whizz Kids Stakes at Newbury is sure to be a tight contest, with Galiway and Piping Rock both in strong contention. The former is expected to run well and the latter is two from two, whilst representing a top yard.
Godolphin’s Prince Bishop is the 7/2 joint favourite for the 2.55 at Newbury, along with Nichols Canyon. It is hard to separate the two, who both have strong claims for this one.
There is action available across the UK at various locations for those wishing to follow, so be sure to keep up to date with all the latest odds HERE at Britbets.
