Betfair Ascot Chase Betting Tips

The Betfair Ascot Chase is the highlight of a fantastic line-up of horse racing across the UK on Saturday afternoon.

Along with the fine card that Ascot offers, there are also two Grade 2 races and a Grade 3 at Haydock, whilst Wincanton host what is sure to be a fine battle when Zarkandar and Melodic Rendezvous lock horns.

Betfair Ascot Chase Betting Tips

CAPTAIN CHRIS is the 11/10 favourite with Bet365 for the Ascot Chase, following a very comfortable win over Champion Court at Kempton in January. The 10-year-old was beaten in this race by Cue Card last year, however conditions are sure to suit and he is worth a medium size bet here.

Riverside Theatre is the second favourite and William Hill are giving odds of 9/2 for him to win this race for a third time. Nicky Henderson’s two-time winner of this contest is on 10lb worse terms and needs to improve a lot on recent Huntingdon win.

Rolling Aces and Cloudy Too both represent decent value and may be worth betting on in a forecast to finish behind the favourite here.

The only Grade 2 event on the Ascot card is the RSA Trial Novices’ Chase and MANY CLOUDS catches the eye. At a best price of 15/8, the 7-year-old still represents good value following a 16 length romping of Indian Castle in December.

Oliver Sherwood’s favourite continues to improve and will be suited by the conditions, therefore 5/2 shot Gevrey Chambertin will have to supply something very special to beat the market leader.

Un Tempts Pour Tout is appealing in the first race at Ascot, whilst Bourne represents decent value at 8/1 in the 3.15. Another to keep a close eye on is Mountain King in the penultimate race. He partners Richard Johnson and is best price 6/4 with most leading firms.

Haydock Horse Racing Tips

Oscar Rock represents decent value at 85/40 with Bet Victor after a fine third in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury last time out. Wuff is sure to cause problems for the favourite, whilst Toubeera also looks a threat for Venetia Williams’ in-form yard.

Paul Nicholls’ CELESTIAL HALO is a short 6/5 favourite for the Betfred Mobile Hurdle and looks set to win again on his journey to another attempt at the World Hurdle at Cheltenham. Seeyouatmidnight has been running well, however this requires another big step up.

The Betfred Grand National Trial includes a number of decent entries to make for a race that is sure to cause problems for punters. Hawkes Point ran well in the Welsh National last time and warrants respect.

Our Father, Merry King, Wychwoods Brook and Loch Ba are four more who represent good value.

Kingwell Hurdle Betting Tips

Finally, the dual between Zarkandar and Melodic Rendezvous at Wincanton may just make for the race of the day. Both are high class hurdlers and whilst Zarkandar won this race on the same ground last season, Jeremy Scott’s eight-year-old likes both the course and conditions.

Scott’s entry is the current 6/5 favourite with Bet Victor, whilst Coral offer best price 7/4 for Zarkandar. Whilst the favourite might be slightly more appealing, this is a very hard one to call.
