Matchday five of the Champions League group stage continues this evening as more sides look to book their places in the last 16.
As far as English interest goes, Manchester United travel to Bayer Leverkusen whilst Manchester City host Czech side Viktoria Plzen.
Manchester United v Bayer Leverkusen
United know that a win tonight against German side Bayer Leverkusen will secure their progress into the new year’s knockout stages.
David Moyes’ side are unbeaten in six in the Premier League although they come off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw at Cardiff City.
They haven’t lost in Europe yet this season and will be hoping to repeat history against Leverkusen, as they defeated them 4-2 in matchday one.
However David Moyes will have to cope with the absences of Robin van Persie and Namanja Vidic who miss out through injury, whilst Marouane Fellaini is suspended.
But Sami Hyypia’s side also know a win will guarantee their spot in the last 16 and are slight favourites for victory tonight. Bet Victor provide the best odds on them clinching victory at 29/20.
But I think Manchester United will have enough in their tank to secure the three points. And with Bet 365 providing fairly generous odds of 9/4, a United win is my Bet of the Day.
You can catch this one live on Sky Sports 2 from 7:45pm.
Manchester City v Viktoria Plzen
Manchester City come into this tie against the Czech champions off the back of their momentous 6-0 thrashing of Tottenham on Sunday.
Their progress into the knockout phase is already guaranteed following back-to-back wins over CSKA Moscow in previous fixtures.
The exiled Joe Hart is recalled by Manuel Pellegrini for his first appearance since November 2nd. But City will be without both Stevan Jovetic and and David Silva who are both sidelined.
Plzen have lost all four of their Champions League fixtures so far and City defeated them 3-0 when they met in the Czech Republic back in September.
This one is live on Sky Sports 4 from 7:45pm.
Juventus v FC Copenhagen
Another stand-out game tonight comes from Group B where Serie A winners Juventus take on Danish champions Copenhagen.
Juve have had a disastrous European campaign so far, having only picked up points from three draws, leaving them bottom of the group.
Copenhagen go into the match in third, tied on four points with Galatasaray who are second, and this match could have a massive bearing on who makes it through to the last 16.
Despite their stuttering continental form, Juve are considerable favourites with the bookies, Totesport offering the best odds on an Italian victory at 1/6. Bet 365 offer the best price on a Copenhagen win at 22/1.
You can watch this match live from 7:45pm via the red button on sky, along with the rest of tonight’s games.
The only exception is the day’s early kick-off between CSKA Moscow and Bayern Munich which is live on Sky Sports 4 from 5pm.
