There’s a full set of fixtures in the Championship on Boxing Day, including Nottingham Forest v QPR and Middlesbrough against leaders Burnley.
Leicester City v Reading
It’s a matchup between two play-off contenders at the King Power stadium as third placed Leicester take on Reading.
The hosts ended a disappointing run of form with a 1-0 win against leaders QPR on Saturday but will be without Chris Wood Tom Hopper and Sean St Ledger all remain sidelined for Nigel Pearson’s side. Bet Victor offer the best price on a Foxes win at 4/5.
The visitors will without Wayne Bridge, Sean Morrison and striker Jason Roberts who are all ruled out with injury.
They be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Wigan but are in fairly good form, having picked up three wins from the last five games. Bet 365 offer fairly generous odds of 4/1 on a Reading win.
Middlesbrough v Burnley
Burnley will be hoping to retain their position at the top of the Championship when they visit Middlesbrough in another 3pm kick-off.
Boro picked up their first win of the month on Saturday when they defeated Millwall 2-0 but Aitor Karanka could face a selection headache with Muzzy Carayol, Jonathan Woodgate, Rhys Williams Frazer Richardson and Andy Halliday all doubts ahead of the game. However the hosts are slight favourites for victory, with Paddy Power offering the best odds of 6/4.
In contrast, Burnley have a clean bill of health bar Ross Wallace who is out with a knee injury. Sean Dyche’s side have only won two of their last eight games but they are my BET OF THE DAY to secure the three points, with Bet Victor offering generous odds of 2/1.
Blackpool v Leeds United
These two sides couldn’t be in any more opposing runs of form, with Blackpool losing all four of their Championship games in December whilst Leeds are unbeaten in four.
Angel Martinez and Ricardo Fuller both return from suspension for Paul Ince’s side but the latter may still miss out with a hamstring injury. Blackpool have fallen out of the play-offs after defeats to promotion rivals Derby, QPR and Burnley although they are slight favourites with Bet Victor at 13/8.
Luke Murphy is suspended for Leeds whilst defender Marius Zaliukas faces a late fitness with a hamstring injury. Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Barnsley saw Brian McDermott’s side move up to fifth and Bet Victor offer fairly generous odds of 19/10 on the Whites winning this tea time game.
The match is live on Sky Sports 1 from 5:15pm.
Nottingham Forest v QPR
QPR’s undefeated home record came to an end in Saturday when they were beaten by Leicester and they’ll be looking to hit back against Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening.
Forest have gone off the boil in recent weeks though and have fallen to seventh in the league with just one win in their last six and the best odds on them winning are provided by Paddy Power at 8/5.
Joey Barton is suspended for Harry Redknapp’s side but Yossi Benayoun could make his first start for the Londoners after coming off the bench at the weekend. QPR have never won at Forest but Bet Victor offer the best price on a QPR win at 2/1.
You can watch this one live from 7:30pm on Sky Sports 1.
