The hectic weekend of Football League play-offs continue over the next couple of days, with Derby v Brighton in the second leg of the Championship tie. Also on Sunday, is the second League Two play-off where Burton Albion take on Southend United.
Derby County v Brighton Betting Tips
Derby County take a 2-1 advantage from the first leg of this match ahead of the second leg at the County Ground on Sunday. Jesse Lingard had put Brighton ahead but a Chris Martin penalty and Tomasz Kuszczak own goal gave Steve McLaren’s side the advantage.
However, the hosts may be without key midfielder Craig Bryson who was substituted after picking up a knock in the first leg. Shaun Barker, James O’Connor and Paul Coutts all remain sidelined.
Brighton need to pull out a result to have a chance of making the final at Wembley and they have produced a couple of decent away wins in the latter weeks of the season at both Leicester and Nottingham Forest.
Oscar Garcia have injury concerns over both Matt Upson and Will Buckley ahead of the second leg and will both be assessed. Midfielders Dale Stephens and Andrew Crofts miss out again but right-back Bruno could return following a groin injury.
Derby have now won all three games against the Seagulls this season and I can’t look past them in this match. Bet Victor offer the best odds of 21/20 on the hosts winning, whilst Brighton are best priced at 16/5 with William Hill.
Watch the match live from 5:15pm on Sky Sports 1.
Burton Albion v Southend United Betting Tips
A little earlier on Sunday is the second League Two play-off first leg as Burton Albion face Southend United for the second time in two weekends.
Until 2009, Burton had only ever played non-league football but now they are on the hunt for promotion to the third tier however Gary Rowett’s side go into this clash with just one win in their last five.
The Staffordshire outfit are likely to recall Ian Sharps and Billy Kee who were rested last week. Striker Adam McGurk is set to return from a groin injury but Australian defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is a doubt.
Southend came out 1-0 winners from last Saturday’s meeting, as they did when they last visited the Pirelli Stadium back in October. Phil Brown is also boosted with having a clean bill of health.
Watch this game live on Sky Sports 1 from 12pm.
