The Coral–Eclipse Summer Festival at Sandown Park is the meeting that all punters will have eyes on this weekend; with the majorly impressive Al Kazeem bidding to extend the fine form that has seen him beat Camelot on his last two appearances.
Coral-Eclipse – Sandown Park
Al Kazeem looks the deserved favourite here following two successive Group 1 wins and is surely the one to beat. A P O’Briens Declaration Of War is the 4/1 second favourite (Coral), although it looks as though more will be needed here to compete with the high quality favourite.
He ran superbly well last time to capture the Queen Anne Stakes and looks best over 1m but improvement is definitely due here.
The Fugue looked good when third to Al Kazeem but definite improvement is needed if he is to see off this favourite, who is in good form.
Coral Charge – Sandown Park
The Coral Charge looks as competitive as ever, with Tickled Pink the current 4/1 favourite with Bet365. She drops to 5f this time but her speed over 6f puts her in strong contention here and it should certainly suit.
Dutch Masterpiece and Duke Of Firenze have both looked good so far this season but more is needed to defeat the favourite and compete at this level.
Kingsgate Native, Spirit Quartz and Mince all have claims and warrant respect, although more is needed here for all of them.
Coral Distaff – Sandown Park
Nargys is the market leader in the Coral Distaff at 3.15, although Auction beat him, Woodland Aria and Light Up My Life last time. That isn’t expected again here, as the favourite comes best out of the weights and could be good enough to win this.
Integral won a Goodwood maiden so will need a lot more to feature, but comes from a top yard so cannot be ignored and may warrant respect at a tempting 5/1 (Paddy Power).
Caucus and Biographer look the main contenders for the Coral Marathon at 4.25. The former is running very well of late and has no major concerns again here. Biographer is a proven stayer up to 1m6f and may improve here which could see him in with a decent chance in this difficult betting contest.
Lancashire Oaks – Haydock
Albasharah is the 2/1 market leader for the feature race at Haydock (Bet365) and should feature prominently on the back of an unlucky fifth at Royal Ascot. She steps up to 1m4f here for the first time and is expected to improve and run well in this.
Opinion is the favourite for the Bet 365 Old Newton Cup and Masamah makes some appeal in the bet365.com Conditions Stakes.
Other top quality horse racing is available across the UK for punters throughout the day, from Bellewstown, Beverley, Carlisle, Leicester and Nottingham.
