England continue their World Cup preparations in America on Wednesday evening as they face Ecuador in Miami. Meanwhile in Amsterdam, Wales have a high profile friendly against 2010 World Cup finalists Holland.
England v Ecuador Betting
England’s preparations for this summer’s tournament got off to the best possible start on Friday as they confidently saw off Peru 3-0 at Wembley and at the weekend they set off for America ahead of a friendly against another South American side, Ecuador.
This is their third and final warm-up game before their Group E encounter with Switzerland on June 15th. Most recently, they lost 3-1 to Mexico on Saturday, whilst they held Holland to a 1-1 draw a fortnight beforehand.
Roy Hodgson will be hoping his side will prevent the Ecuadorians from picking up a morale-boosting win with his England side looking reasonably adept following Friday’s victory.
Leighton Baines was substituted in that match with a groin strain, which Hodgson says is not serious, and he could be rested with Luke Shaw recovering from cold the obvious replacement at left-back.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Phil Jones also missed the Peru friendly but are likely to feature after shaking off their respective injuries.
England last faced Ecuador in the 2006 World Cup, but struggled to break down the South Americans. David Beckham’s 60 minute goal eventually secured an unconvincing victory in the group stage in Germany.
England are 20/21 favourites to claim the win with Bet Victor whilst William Hill offer the best odds of 7/2 on Ecuador, ranked 28th in the FIFA rankings, on securing the win. Coral offer 5/2 on a draw.
BET OF THE DAY: My bet of the day on Friday was Daniel Sturridge as anytime scorer and he netted the opener. I’d suggest backing him in the same market again for this match at 7/4 with Bet 365.
Watch the game live on ITV1 from 8pm.
Holland v Wales Betting Tips
Chris Coleman’s Wales make the trip to Amsterdam to play one of the European giants, Holland in what is Louis van Gaal’s final warm-up match before they kick off their World Cup campaign against Spain next Friday.
However, Wales go into the match with key players absent, much to the irritation on van Gaal who was hoping for a real challenge before facing the World and European Champions.
Gareth Bale has not travelled after struggling with a leg injury whilst Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has been rested. Swansea duo Ashley Williams and Ben Davies will also not feature.
Catch this game live from 7:30pm on BBC Two Wales or for other British viewers on the BBC Sport website.
International Friendly Betting Tips
There are a couple of televised international fixtures taking place on Tuesday evening, most notably Brazil who take on Panama from 8pm on BT Sport 1.
It’s a surprisingly ‘easy’ penultimate friendly for the World Cup hosts, with them also playing Serbia on Friday. They’re obviously huge favourites and are 1/10 on for the win with Bet Victor, with William Hill pricing Panama at 25/1.
Neither Czech Republic nor Austria will compete in the World Cup but they face each other in a friendly tonight, which is live on Premier Sports from 7:30pm. The Czechs are 11/8 favourites with Bet Victor whilst Coral price an Austria win at 23/10.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Northern Ireland complete their short tour of South America as they face Chile. They played very well against Uruguay last Saturday but were shaded out 1-0. They again come into this one as underdogs at 14/1 with Bet Victor, with Ladbrokes offering the best odds on a Chile win at 2/7.
