Last round was a disaster for Inter but a feast for the eyes of football lovers. In spite holding more possession Inter was trashed by Napoli 4-2. It could have been even uglier, but luckily for Inter, Napoli missed a penalty in extra time.
Inter’s defense in 3 is often overwhelmed even by moderate pressure. At first coach Mazzarri blamed defender Juan, but Campagnaro and Ranocchia aren’t any better.
The problem is with the defensive midfielders. They lack tackling skills, anticipation and speed. In these conditions opponents don’t need prolonged possession in order to score, only a through ball can do the job. And keep in mind Milan have Balotelli upfront and Kaka usually serves him these kind of balls.
Midfielder Alvarez will miss for Inter through suspension and most probably offensive minded Kovacic will replace him.
Milan also took part in an entertaining game last round, 2-2 against Roma. They have more defenders than Inter (use a defense in 4), but aren’t doing any better at the back.
In fact, the most important players for the defensive phase are actually midfielders De Jong and Montolivo. Sadly for Milan captain Montolivo will miss through suspension.
Milan’s defense will be more exposed than usual and most probably will concede more than usual (1.56 goals per game current ratio), even if there will be an extra mobilization considering this is a derby.
If you love football you shouldn’t miss this game as it’s going to be full of events. 8/11 at PaddyPower for over 2.5 goals is definitely worth a medium size bet.
