We are in store for a competitive night of action in the NBA on Tuesday with six games scheduled; including Western leaders Oklahoma against 23-10 Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves against the in-form Chicago Bulls.
Atlanta Hawks @ Oklahoma City Thunder – 01:00 am
Thunder boast the NBA’s best record, having won 35 of 45 games so far this term. They have won seven in a row without star Guard Russell Westbrook who is still out with a knee injury. Hawks got back to winning ways with a 112-87 rout over the Bucks on Sunday and this will be no walkover for the hosts.
Ladbrokes offer the best price of 2/11 for a home win, whilst Bet Victor go 9/2 for the surprise Hawks victory. Although Mike Budenholzer’s men are a long way off Miami and Indiana in the West, they have played some good ball and should not be underestimated.
This one should follow the betting though and punters are advised not to back against the favourites who are in such good form.
Instead, betting on scores and scorers is a safer option in this one. Kevin Durant has been in scintillating form of late and represents decent value at 5/6 to score above 33.5 points. It seems a very high total; however Durant has scored 30+ for ten straight games going into this.
Kyle Korver never fails to shoot well and he is 4/5 to score above 11.5 points which also representsgood value. For Oklahoma to win by 1-10, the 6/4 that Paddy Power are offering represents good value.
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Chicago Bulls – 01:00 am
Chicago Bulls got back to winning ways against Charlotte on Sunday and have started the new year in much better fashion than they finished the last. Tom Thibodeau’s men have won ten of thirteen this month, climbing to fifth in the Eastern.
Timberwolves have an almost identical record to bulls, having won one less and lost one more than the boys from Chicago.
Bulls to win HT/FT represents decent value at 13/5, as does Timberwolves star Kevin Love scoring above 24.5 points at 5/6 with Paddy Power.
Toronto Raptors @ Brooklyn Nets – 12:30 am
Jason Kidd’s Brooklyn Nets have been playing as well as anyone of late, winning 10 of their last 11 games. They have moved up to seventh place in the Eastern, three places below Tuesday’s opponents Toronto Raptors.
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were both given a mighty reception as they returned to the TD Garden and Nets went on to beat the Celtics 85-79.
Raptors symbolise some good value at 6/4 with William Hill, whilst the in-form Nets are best price 8/13 to win a sixth straight game.
Terence Ross may play well again, following a fantastic 51-point game against Clippers on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Clippers will be looking for a third straight win against Milwaukee Bucks, Utah should be Sacramento and Phoenix are a short 1/2 to beat the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.
BET OF THE DAY: Oklahoma, L.A. Clippers & Phoenix Suns to win.
