NBA Betting Tips 2nd January 2014
It is another busy and competitive night of action in the NBA on Friday as Miami Heat host the bang in-form Golden State Warriors who are in search of a seventh straight win.
San Antonio Spurs welcome a New York Knicks team to the AT&T Center who will be thankful for the return of Carmelo Anthony, whilst Boston travel to Chicago and Portland face Charlotte Bobcats.
Golden State Warriors @ Miami Heat – 12:30 am
Heat are 14-2 at home this season and have won their last two games going into this one. LeBron James is back in top form following a string of injuries and center Chris Bosh has been at the top of his game.
Warriors are playing the best ball of their season at the moment since the return of Andre Iguodala and star point guard Steph Curry is averaging 22.9ppg and 9.5 assists. Any bets on Curry to score well are worth a go for punters.
Other bets that represent good value are for both sides to win by 1-5 points. Golden State are 9/2 and Heat are 7/2; the latter being the best option in what is sure to be a real close encounter.
New York Knicks @ San Antonio Spurs – 01:30 am
San Antonio Spurs have won three in a row, whilst an injury-hit Knicks side have lost their last three. The return of the legendary Carmelo Anthony is sure to give Knicks confidence going into this one though and they are big 13/2 outsiders with Bet Victor.
Spurs are massive 1/8 favourites to make it four wins in a row and Tony Parker represent good value of 5/6 to score above 18.0 points for the home team. J.R Smith has been starting regularly since Anthony’s injury and he is 5/6 to score above 18.0 points.
Boston Celtics @ Chicago Bulls – 01:00 am
Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls face off in what is expected to be another of the night’s tightest contests. They are currently eighth and ninth in the Eastern Conference and Boston have won one more game than the injury-prone Bulls.
Chicago have been decent at home, winning and losing seven and this makes them 4/7 favourites for the clash. Celtics represent decent value of 17/10 with Coral and Jeff Green is 5/6 to score above 14.5 points which may be worth a small bet.
Carlos Boozer has played well so far this campaign and is averaging 14.6ppg. The big man is 5/6 with Paddy Power to score 14.5ppg which symbolises good value and may be worth a medium sized bet.
Charlotte Bobcats @ Portland Trail Blazers – 03:00 am
Portland recorded an important victory over Conference rivals Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday to close the gap on the NBA’s current joint top team.
Blazers face Charlotte at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter and are big 2/13 favourites to win this. Bobcats have hit a bad streak of form, losing four straight games and they are 6/1 with Bet365.
LaMarcus Aldridge starred with 25 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Oklahoma and can be backed at 5/6 to score above 23.5 points with Paddy Power.
Another decent bet is for Trail Blazers to win by 1-10 at 17/10, also with Paddy Power.
Elsewhere; Orlando travel to Cleveland, Oklahoma host Brooklyn, Memphis face Phoenix, Bucks and Jazz face off in a low league clash and 76ers play Kings.
BET OF THE DAY: Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers to win.
