NBA Betting Tips 8th January 2014
It is an extremely busy night of action in the NBA tonight with 12 fixtures scheduled. Indiana host Toronto in an all-Eastern clash, whilst Miami Heat take on New Orleans at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
Toronto Raptors @ Indiana Pacers – 12:00 am
Last time the Pacers and Raptors met, the latter recorded a surprise 95-82 upset over the Eastern Conference leaders. Indiana have only lost once at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse this campaign and boast a superb 27-6 record.
Raptors are currently 16-16 and have won 10 of their 18 away fixtures to date. Toronto are 11/4 with William Hill, whilst Pacers remain strong favourites and can be backed at a short price of 2/7 with Paddy Power.
Paddy Power offer a decent price of 11/8 for Frank Vogel’s men to win by 1-10 which should be a decent bet for what is expected to be a fairly close contest.
Paul George is averaging 23.2ppg so far this season and Paddy Power are offering 5/6 for him to score above 23.5 points.
New Orleans Pelicans @ Miami Heat – 12:30 am
Miami are 15-3 at home this season and continue to close the gap on the Pacers. They have won their last two in fine style, beating the in-form Raptors and smashing Orlando Magic 110-94.
New Orleans lost to Indiana in their last game and are currently in 11th spot in the very competitive Western Conference. Heat are the heavy 2/9 favourites to make it three wins in a row, whilst Pelicans are 37/10 with Bwin.
Pelicans are likely to start well and Bet365 are offering 17/10 for New Orleans to win the first half and Miami Heat to surge yet another comeback to win the game.
Eric Gordon is in fine form and averaging 15.4ppg. Paddy Power offer 5/6 for him to meet or surpass the 15 point mark against Miami. Another good bet is for LeBron James to score 26.0 points or above.
Washington Wizards @ Charlotte Bobcats – 12:00 am
Washington Wizards will look to get back to winning ways against Charlotte Bobcats, who sit two places behind them in the Eastern, in seventh position. Wizards have lost their last three, whilst Bobcats beat Kings convincingly on Sunday.
This is sure to be one of the tightest contests of the night and William Hill offer evens for Washington and 5/6 for Charlotte.
Kemba Walker top scored for Charlotte on Sunday with 30 points and is averaging 18.4ppg for the season. He is currently 5/6 to score above 18.5 points.
San Antonio Spurs @ Memphis Grizzlies – 01:00 am
San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies face-off in a rematch from the Western Conference Finals and Spurs are 10 places above the Grizzlies in the Western. Both teams are looking for back-to-back wins, however San Antonio are the 2/9 market leaders with William Hill.
Grizzlies are 21/10 with Bwin to win, with Mike Conley evens to score above 16.5 points for the home side. Legend veteran Tony Parker represents decent value at 5/6 to score above his 17.7ppg average and shoot above 18.5 points in this one.
Elsewhere on Wednesday; Cleveland host Philadelphia, Detroit start their five-day busy schedule in New York against the Knicks, Chicago host Phoenix and the mightily in-form Golden State travel to face Milwaukee. Later on; Dallas host L.A. Lakers, Boston travel to Denver, Utah play Oklahoma and Portland meet Sacramento.
BET OF THE DAY: Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs to win.
