Only two weeks of regular season games are left in the NFL as we reach the penultimate set of games before the playoffs. Each team is well aware of what it has to do in order to make the playoffs and have a shot at the Superbowl.
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers – Sun, Dec 22 18:00
This game will potentially decide the NFC South division as both the Saints and the Panthers are 10-4. The Saints won the first meeting of these two teams earlier in December in New Orleans, but their away record is shaky at 3-4, with the Panthers 6-1 at home. The Panthers are favourites at 20/23 with Coral, and the Saints are 31/20 with Paddy Power. Drew Brees has once again been in phenomenal form this season and Bwin give 11/13 on him to throw over 310.5 passing yards. Pierre Thomas has been quiet the past 3 weeks for the Saints, but they will look to him for stability against a strong defence, he’s 13/2 with Ladbrokes to score the first Saints touchdown. The Panthers will struggle to halt this motivated Saints team, Paddy Power give 15/8 for the Saints to win by 1-13 points.
New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens – Sun, Dec 22 21:25
The 10-4 Patriots face the resurgent 8-6 Baltimore Ravens who have won 6 straight coming into this game. The Patriots have had a steady season by their standards, and should have clinched a playoff spot last week but lost the game to Miami. The Patriots either have to win or rely on Cincinnati to lose for them to be guaranteed this week. The Ravens are 20/23 favourites with Coral while the Pats go in at 11/10 with Paddy Power. Bwin give 7/2 on the Ravens to clinch the game by 1-6 points, and they also offer the Shortest touchdown yardage of the game to be under 1.5 at 11/13. The game to be under 44.5 total points is 10/11 with Bet Victor, and the Ravens rookie tight end Ed Dickson is 7/2 to score a touchdown anytime, he’s improving week to week in his first year in the NFL.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Green Bay Packers – Sun, Dec 22 21:25
After Aaron Roger’s injury the Packers lost 3 straight games and it looked like a lost season, but two straight wins has put them in a position to win the NFC North if they beat the Steelers and the Bears next week. The Pack go in at 20/23 with Bet Victor, and come off their biggest ever comeback as they overturned 23 points in the second half last week to beat Dallas. The Steelers are 11/10 with William Hill and have a poor away record at 2-5, but still have a shot at the playoffs, albeit only if other teams around the AFC lose. Bet 365 give 15/4 on the Packers to sneak this one by 1-6, and also offer 17/2 on Steelers/Packers halftime-full time. Ladbrokes offer 21/20 on over 44 points in this one.
Minnesota Vikings @ Cincinnati Bengals – Sun, Dec 22 18:00
The Cincinnati Bengals slipped up last week against the Steelers and have to get back to winning ways to guarantee a playoff spot this week. The Bengals are 6-0 at home and 1/4 favourites with Paddy Power, while the Vikings are 0-6-1 away from home and 10/3 outsiders with Betfred. The Bengals to win by 13+ points is 13/10 with Paddy Power, and the game to have 5-6 touchdowns is 7/4 with William Hill. The Vikings may choose to Start running back Matt Asiata in the absence of Adrian Peterson, and he got 3 touchdowns last week in a brilliant performance. He’s 7/2 to score anytime with Paddy Power.
BET OF THE DAY – Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins – The quarterback situation in Washington may not be great, but running back Alfred Morris does take the pressure off and he’s 5/6 with Ladbrokes to score anytime against a porous Cowboys defence.
