Nurnberg got defeated again last week (lost 2-0 at Mainz) and their hopes of avoiding relegation got crushed. With only 2 rounds to go they need to win both games, but not only that, they also need competitors to lose their games and cover a huge goal difference (17 goals).
For anyone who is not a daydreamer that is simply impossible to achieve by a team like Nurnberg which registered a 5th consecutive defeat last round.
Their 4-3-3 system gives away many spaces for opponents and in-spite using many players in the offensive phase Nurnberg aren’t able to create a great deal dangerous opportunities. Last week for example they had only 1 shot on target.
Last round Hannover also played against a club that needed points in order to avoid relegation (0-0 against Stuttgart). The game was very balanced and seeing that Stuttgart weren’t willing to assume any risks Hannover conformed and adopted a defensive strategy.
Hannover haven’t really threatened the opponent so upfront they were a bit soft, but they were solid and very organized in midfield and defense.
Most likely guests will miss forward Ya Konan who suffered an injury last round.
Nurnberg are too weak and maybe even too depressed after relegating and they won’t be able to impose themselves in-front of an organized team like Hannover. Hannover or draw at 8/11 Paddy Power definitely deserves some medium stakes.
