Parma did just enough to secure the win last round (1-0 away at Sassuolo). The opponent was comfortable and so the game wasn’t that exhausting. Parma didn’t even tried to use all their weapons and were quite happy with only killing the game.
But this round it should be an entire different story, as Verona are pretty ambitious, in-fact they have the same ambitions as Parma (European places).
At Parma the atmosphere is good, the confidence is running high and they should resume with the aggressive and offensive attitude we saw 3 rounds ago against Atalanta (won 4-0), and 2 rounds ago against Fiorentina (ended 2-2).
There are no new injuries so Parma have a full squad to choose from.
Verona were kind of fortunate to get away with a point last round against Bologna (finished 0-0). Bologna had more opportunities and at one point they even missed a penalty.
Verona’s defense was once again shaky, and believe it or not, it is actually one of the poorest defenses in Serie A (concede 1.61 goals per game), in-spite them fighting for an European place. The only ones making the difference are the players involved in the offensive phase, but last round they appeared uninspired and even apathetic at times.
The first game between these teams was an incredible 5 goals thriller (Verona won 3-2) but judging by how teams are doing now, this encounter should be at the other extreme, a low scoring game with hosts taking all the points.
Parma to win at 8/11 from Paddy Power is definitely worth some medium stakes.
