Premier League Betting Tips

Premier League BetingBy Mark Rawlinson

We’re about to enter the busiest part of the Premier League season with the festive fixtures kicking in over the next couple of weeks.

And there are a few tasty ties this weekend to fuel the seasonal football feast including Southampton v Tottenham and on Monday night Arsenal take on Chelsea.

Liverpool v Cardiff City (Saturday)

The action kicks off on Saturday lunchtime as the on fire Liverpool host a struggling Cardiff side with their manager Malky Mackay coming under ever increasing pressure.

He was told on Friday to quit or be fired by Cardiff’s owner Vincent Tan as the pair’s relationship deteriorates yet further but Tan has agreed to meet chairman Mehmet Dalman on Friday for last minute meeting.

With all the furore going on behind the scenes, it could be easily forgotten that a decent start to the season sees the Welsh side four points above the drop zone in 15th place.

Craig Bellamy could face his old team but he faces a late fitness test for the Bluebirds but they will do well to keep the in-form Luis Suarez quiet.

He’s scored 17 goals in 11 games so far, which is more than 10 of the sides in the league have managed to score.

My BET OF THE WEEKEND is on the Uruguayan to net a hat-trick, with William Hill offering the best odds of 8/1.

In terms of match odds, Liverpool are obviously huge favourites, with Paddy Power offering the best odds of 2/9 whilst Bet Victor offer the best price on a Cardiff win at 17/1.

The match is live from 12:45pm on BT Sport 1.

Southampton v Tottenham (Sunday)

Spurs prepare for their first Premier League match following the departure of Andre Villas-Boas after Sunday’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Tim Sherwood took charge of their midweek defeat to West Ham in the Capital One Cup and he remains on the touchline for Sunday’s clash.

He must deal with the absence of injured trio Andros Townsend, Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen whilst Paulinho serves the second game of his three match ban.

Following an excellent start to the campaign, the Saints have been on somewhat of a slump recently and are without a win in five going into this game.

Captain Adam Lallana could return to Mauricio Pochettino’s side following injury whilst Nathaniel Clyne could also feature following a hamstring issue.

The hosts are 8/5 favourites with Paddy Power whilst the best value on a Spurs win comes from Bet Victor at 2/1.

This one is live on Sky Sports 1 from 1:30pm, followed by Swansea City v Everton at 4pm.

Arsenal v Chelsea (Monday)

The big game this weekend is on Monday evening as table-toppers Arsenal take on London rivals Chelsea.

The 6-3 defeat to Manchester City last Saturday cut the Gunners’ advantage to second placed Liverpool to just two points but they know a victory would ensure their spot at the top of the tree on Christmas Day.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says his side are not scoring enough goals and blamed this for their 2-1 extra time defeat to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Chelsea won both meetings between the two sides 2-1 last season but are priced as outsiders for this meeting, with Bet 365 offering the best odds of 12/5. Paddy Power provide the best price on an Arsenal win at 7/5.

This match is live on Sky Sports 1 from 8pm.
