After a few too much to eat on Christmas Day, you’d be forgiven for sitting in front on the TV to watch the traditional set of fixtures on Boxing Day.
There are games right throughout the afternoon, culminating with third versus first as Manchester City take on Liverpool at tea time.
Hull City v Manchester United
This Christmas in the first time Manchester United have spent Christmas outside of the top four since 2001 and they’ll be looking to bridge the gap with a win in the lunchtime kick-off at Hull.
They recovered to finish third in the league that season and they go into this match off the back of four straight wins in all competitions.
Steve Bruce’s Hull have had a successful first half of the season and currently lie 12th. They’ve drawn their last three games but have the meanest home in the Premier League, having only conceded three goals at the KC Stadium. The hosts only have one injury worry, with Robbie Brady unlikely to feature.
Michael Carrick and Robin van Persie are both unlikely to feature for United today Danny Welbeck faces a late fitness test with a knee injury.
Judging by Hull’s recent run of results, my BET OF THE DAY is on a draw, and SkyBet offer the best odds of 33/10 on the spoils being shared.
This match is live on Sky Sports 1 from 12:45pm.
West Ham v Arsenal
West Ham have picked up just one Premier League point in December, a run which leaves them hovering a point above the relegation zone.
Sam Allardyce will reinstate Kevin Nolan after the midfielder completed his three match ben and James Tomkins is also expected to feature, despite being charged with assaulting a police officer.
Arsenal secured a point from their tricky tie against Chelsea on Monday night, a result which saw them secure second spot at Christmas.
Jack Wilshere completes the second of his two-match ban but Laurent Koscielny could return to Arsene Wenger’s side after missing the Chelsea game with a knee injury.
The match is live on BT Sport 1 from 3:00pm.
Manchester City v Liverpool
Manchester City are the form team in the Premier League at the moment having picked up 16 points out of a possible 18 and have scored 10 goals in just two matches.
Sergio Aguero and defenders Matija Nastasic, Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards all remain sidelined whilst Steven Jovetic is a doubt after missing the 4-2 win over Fulham with illness.
Liverpool head an extremely tightly-contested title race, and are also in free scoring form, with 17 goals in their last four matches, mainly down to the prolific Luis Suarez.
Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates are all out with injury whilst Jon Flanagan is a doubt with a hamstring injury.
Manchester City have made the Etihad Stadium a fortress in the league, with eight wins from eight. They’re a safe bet at 4/5 for victory with Paddy Power whilst Bet Victor offer the best price on a Liverpool win at 18/5.
You can catch this one from 5:30pm live on BT Sport 1.
