Newbury and Newcastle host some top class racing on Saturday, which will see some of last season’s class-acts in action for the first time this term.

Newbury host the Hennessy Heritage Festival whilst the Stan James Fighting Fifth Hurdle Raceday takes place in Newcastle.

bet365 Long Distance Hurdle (Grade 2)

AT FISHERS CROSS turned into a top staying novice last season after winning a handicap on this card a year ago. A P McCoy won’t be riding the 6-year-old on this occasion though, after a success-packed season last year.

He is heading to Newcastle, so jockey Barry Geraghty will be taking over for Rebecca Curtis to ride the favourite for the first time.

He is currently 10/11 best price favourite with Bet365 and there should be more to come from him.

Reve De Sivola is the biggest danger to the favourite at 4/1, having won the Long Walk Hurdle last season. He then finished second to the brilliant Quevega, before winning a Grade 1 at Auteuil earlier this month.

He will prefer slow ground though and this is likely to be tougher again for him.

Celestial Halo is Nicholls’ entry and warrants respect on his World Hurdle second in March. He is currently 9/2.

Hennessy Gold Cup Chase (Grade 3 Handicap)

The other graded race on the Newbury card follows the 2.25. Lord Windermere and Rocky Creek are currently the market leaders at 8/1 with most firms.

The former has fabulous form won the RSA at Cheltenham. He has plenty more progress in him and represents decent value in this tough race. The latter also boasts fantastic form and can stay very well.

Hadrian’s Approach and Highland Lodge are another two to keep an eye on, both available at 12/1 with Betfred.

At even longer odds, Prince De Beauchene warrants respect under Ruby Walsh, whilst Cape Tribulation symbolises good value at 50/1 with Bet Victor.

Free thinking is one to watch in the first, after cruising to victory on her hurdling debut at Ludlow. Black River should run well in the second, receiving 8lb’s from the top weight and Tetlami represents good value in the last. Fighting Fifth Hurdle (Grade 1)

Over at Newcastle, top novice from last season MY TENT OR YOURS will be bidding to win on his return for the third consecutive season.

A P McCoy is booked to ride the 6-year-old again, after the pair had a very successful season last term. Stan James are offering the best price of 4/5 for him.

Melodic Rendezvous is the 11/4 second favourite and is improving. He won a Grade 2 handicap on comeback and is sure to run a big race.

Green Flag is sure to run well in the first and Oscar Rock is worth a punt in the 13:05. Badger foot represents good value in the 13:35, as does Full Shift in the last.

Double – At Fishers Cross (2:25 Newbury) & My Tent Or Yours (2:05 Newcastle) to win.
