With eight horse racing meetings available for punters to get stuck into on Saturday, the market is sure to heat up, with Haydock and Newmarket the most likely locations for prime entertainment.
Four Class 1 races are set to go ahead at Haydock, whilst Newmarket attracts both leading jockey Ryan Moore and Champion jockey Richard Hughes among a number of other quality riders.
The Betvictor Pinnacle Stakes is the first one of the four at Haydock, with Ambivalent the market leader. She looks the best of these on the back of a fine display at York and jockey Andrea Atzeni will be hoping to add another win.
Betting odds are currently best with Betfred who offer 7/2 for the favourite, although Prussian and Nymphea both add a huge threat and are decent betting tips at good value.
Last year’s Timeform Jury Stakes winner, Pasotral Player will look to defend this year’s renewal of the contest under jockey Graham Lee. In the way of a repeat and likely to be Saturday’s leading betting tip is Eton Forever, who beat both Pastoral Player and Red Jazz over course and distance last month.
The Betvictor E.B.F. Cecil Frail Fillies’ Stakes over 6f is a competitive contest with the rapid Hoyam leading the betting at 7/2 with BetVictor. She finished second by a neck to Scream Blue Murder in a similar event last time and although 5f seems more suited, she can still seal her first victory of the season in this if running her best.
Ladies Are Forever and City Girl both add interesting appeal to this open contest, which creates good value for those betting on Saturday’s meeting.
Finally, Professor is the pick in the last Class 1 of the meeting, the Betvictor No Lose Hughes Money Back Sandy Lane Stakes. He steps up in class here but should have enough to take on these rivals, with the best price quite short at 6/4 with William Hill.
Clancy Avenue and Lucky Beggar could cause him most trouble, however Professor does seem worth a punt here.
The fine horse racing at Haydock does not stop there though, as betting is still available in the final two races of the day, which start at 17.00 and 17.35 respectively.
Enrol and Nocturn both seem to have a very good chance in the Betfair Supporting The Animal Health Trust Handicap at Newmarket; both are ultra-consistent, however the former could be the best bet in search of a four-timer.
Jeremy Noseda’s entry was unlucky not to win last time though, whilst conditions are expected to suit here, indicating that a fantastic contest is upon us.
A 4lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop the impressive No Heretic on his way to a season double here in the John Sunley Memorial Levy Board Handicap, following his superb victory on his seasonal reappearance at this course. Stan James’ offer of 4/1 looks very reasonable for him.
Angel Gabrial represents good value for an each-way bet at 7/1 (BetVictor), with Richard Hughes sure to get another good run from the Gelding.
In the Ladbrokes Charitable Trust Handicap, Ehtedaam looks the class act after winning so impressively here last month on only his third start. He represents good value for money and could be well worth a bet in the 2.20 renewal.
Horse racing betting is available throughout the day, with quality action from across the United Kingdom scheduled. Beverley, Catterick, Chester and Navan all get underway during the early afternoon, before attention switches to Newbury and Stratford for some fantastic evening action.
