After being sidelined for 5 months because of an injury striker Huntelaar marked his return with a goal against Hamburg (Schalke won 3-0). Huntelaar’s goal definitely came at the right moment, boosting his confidence after so much time without action.
Schalke’s win over Hamburg was impressive and especially the performances of offensive players is really worth mentioning. Right winger Farfan was by far Schalke’s most active player after scoring 1 goal and delivering 2 assists. Farfan’s direct opponent simply had no chance.
Against Wolfsburg the story could repeat itself, especially since Wolfsburg’s left fullback Rodriguez likes to advance and is not that experienced and confident. As a matter of fact entire Wolfsburg’s defense was caught on the wrong foot a couple of times last round, and every time opponents pragmatically exploited the situation (Wolfbsurg lost 3-1 against Hannover).
Offensively Wolfsburg looked a bit shy. It is true the expectations were huge after transferring-in De Bruyne from Chelsea. Wolfsburg paid a record fee of 17 million pounds and maybe this is why everyone expected the world from them.
After 1 round and 1 wrong step it is of course too early to label De Bruyne’s arrival as a mistake.
Schalke’s offensive players are in excellent form while Wolfsburg’s defenders seem a bit confused. Schalke will be able to score, at least once, there shouldn’t be any doubt in that. But in the same time Wolfsburg will push hard to show everyone what they are truly capable upfront. This should be an exciting encounter with a couple of goals scored on both ends. Over 3 goals (with money back if just 3 goals are scored) at 11/10 from Bet365 is a valuable and safe bet.
