Schalke made a decent game last round away at Dortmund (drew 0-0). Even if Dortmund imposed the rythm and had the best of chances, Schalke never never ceased to be dangerous on counters.
The point won in the end was well deserved and show Schalke can be consistent regardless the opponent. They still fight for the 2nd place in Bundesliga, and now after the drawing at Dortmund they have a good chance at getting it, especially with Borussia still involved in Champions League.
These can be considered rough times for Schalke as they have a couple of important players out. Among them is defender Howedes (captain) who will be missing for a couple of weeks, and winger Farfan. At least there are no new injuries and Schalke will be able to use the same team as in the midweek game away at Dortmund.
Hertha suddenly dropped form. Not only because of the midweek game against Bayern (lost 3-1) but for a couple of rounds already they lack confidence and even willpower.
Maybe sitting in the middle of the table with 7 rounds until the end of the season is not much of a motivational factor…
Hertha is one of those teams that create very few chances per game from open play and instead search for set pieces and rely on long range attempts.
Form, motivation and value point to Schalke. Schalke to win at 3/4 from Ladbrokes is definitely a must take.
